I’m a 30-year-old female dealing with hyperpigmentation for the last 2 years, and topical treatments haven’t been very effective. Would Ayurveda offer a solution, and is family history relevant?
Ayurveda approaches hyperpigmentation by considering individual constitutions and possible familial tendencies. Usually this hyperpigmentation is seen with Vata vitiation. Balancing Vata will surely help to reduce pigmentation. Also here the site of pigmentation should be seen as it might also be a suggestive of hormonal imbalance. Consuming Caster oil will passify Vata and pitta. Understanding family history might offer insights into genetic predispositions to pigmentation issues. Recommendations could include dietary changes, topical applications of herbal remedies like Turmeric or Sandalwood, and taking steam of milk. Panchakarma is advised as it cleanses toxins and rejuvenates the skin, promoting even skin tone over time.
